Supports sea level rise adaptation planning for jurisdictions at all stages along California’s coast and San Francisco Bay. Funding covers vulnerability assessments, community engagement, data gathering, and development of comprehensive adaptation plans. Eligible projects include Outer Coast planning, Bay Area subregional plans, and sector-specific adaptation plans. Proposals must meet statewide criteria and build on prior work. Applications are accepted on a rolling, non-competitive basis.
Eligible applicants include local governments, regional governments, federally recognized tribal governments, and organizations or consultants applying on their behalf with explicit government support.
