This grant funds projects that restore and protect rivers and streams to support fisheries and wildlife. Priority activities include reconnecting rivers with floodplains, riparian and side-channel habitat restoration, and protecting upper watershed forests and meadow systems critical for fish and wildlife resources. Projects should improve community resilience to climate change impacts and enhance landscape and water retention in California.
Eligible applicants include nonprofits, public agencies, and tribal governments located in California. Matching funds are not required.
