The Detroit Startup Fund Seed Grant awards $15,000 to early-stage Detroit-based or relocating startups to support product development, validation, and business growth. Up to twenty grants are awarded competitively in two rounds, with two reserved for startups relocating their principal business to Detroit within three months. Eligible businesses are for-profit entities registered in Michigan, focusing on sectors like technology, mobility, advanced manufacturing, clean energy, AI, fintech, health innovation, and civic applications.
Eligible applicants are early-stage Detroit-based or relocating for-profit startups registered in Michigan. Nonprofits, faith-based groups, cooperatives, franchises, and ecommerce without physical Detroit locations are ineligible.
