This program funds principal investigators and their research groups to conduct pioneering basic research projects in all disciplines with international partners. It offers thematic flexibility and supports projects lasting up to 36 or 48 months. Funding covers personnel and non-personnel costs, with applications reviewed through FWF or partner processes. Projects must be based at Austrian institutions and integrated with selected country collaborations.
