The British Academy/Leverhulme Small Research Grants offer up to £10,000 for UK-based postdoctoral scholars or equivalent to fund direct research expenses for defined projects in humanities and social sciences. Funding supports project planning, workshops, conferences, and visits by partner scholars, excluding salaries and equipment. Both individual and collaborative projects are welcomed, with a minimum application amount of £500. Independent scholars have a separate earlier deadline.
Open to postdoctoral scholars or equivalent ordinarily resident in the UK, including independent scholars. Applications require institutional approval. Co-applicants may be international, but the principal applicant must reside in the UK.
