ETH Zurich offers Single-PI Grants to support outstanding and highly innovative doctoral projects across all disciplines. These grants provide seed funding covering salary and material costs for one doctoral student for up to four years, including travel to scientific congresses. Post-doctoral positions are rarely funded and only as an addition to the doctoral student for a maximum of one year. Projects must be pioneering and high-risk/high-reward, excluding generic or natural extensions of ongoing research. Eligible applicants are single Principal Investigators or applicants from the same research group at ETH Zurich proposing highly innovative doctoral projects in any discipline.
