The Internet Freedom Fund supports projects focused on technology development, applied research, digital security ecosystem improvements, and community convenings. It funds projects lasting 6 to 24 months with awards from $10,000 to $900,000, prioritizing first-time applicants, under-represented individuals or organizations, and underfunded areas. Funding is performance-based and overseen by program managers, excluding basic connectivity, ICT4D, and legal advocacy projects.
Open to individuals or organizations applying for the first time, those under-represented in the field, and projects addressing underfunded areas. Priority given to these groups.
