This program funds early career investigators affected by disruptions in federal funding for Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, Frontotemporal Dementia, Dementia with Lewy Bodies, Atypical Parkinson’s, and related neurodegenerative disorders. It provides salary and direct costs to ensure continuity of research impacted by delayed review, termination, priority misalignment, or funding gaps. Institutional cost sharing up to 25% is required.
Eligible applicants are early career investigators within 7 years of NIH Early Stage Investigator designation who have experienced disruptions such as delayed review, termination, priority misalignment, or funding gaps in their research projects.
