This programme offers researchers at all career stages free 6-month personal access to The Social History Archive, which includes over 2,800 historical newspaper titles and nearly 3,000 record sets covering British, Irish, and former empire history. It is reserved for Royal Historical Society members without institutional access who need the archive for a defined research project. Applications require a CV, research statement, and declaration of no other access. Up to 30 awards are made twice yearly.
Applicants must be current Fellows, Associate Fellows, Members, or Postgraduate Members of the Royal Historical Society without institutional access to the Archive and must demonstrate a need for access to pursue a research project.
