The Water Quality Revolving Loan Fund provides financial assistance for projects aimed at protecting or improving Maryland's water resources, including rivers, streams, lakes, and the Chesapeake Bay. It funds point source pollution prevention projects exclusively for public entities and local governments, such as wastewater treatment and sewer system improvements. Nonpoint source pollution prevention projects are open to both public and private entities and include stormwater management, agricultural nutrient plans, stream restoration, and innovative forestry financing tools.
Eligible applicants include public entities and local governments for point source pollution prevention projects, and both public and private entities for nonpoint source pollution prevention projects.
