The SAE-CES Pre-Dissertation Fellowship funds graduate students conducting pre-dissertation research in European Anthropology. It provides a $5,000 stipend for two months of research in Europe, travel support, and a registration fee waiver to present at the 2027 International Conference of Europeanists. Applicants submit a 2,500-word research narrative and three faculty recommendations.
Eligible applicants are graduate students in Anthropology or related fields who have not begun substantial dissertation research in Europe and are not near dissertation completion. Prior recipients of comparable pre-dissertation support are generally ineligible.
