The Best Beginnings Child Care Scholarship helps Montana families afford quality licensed child care by subsidizing costs based on income. It supports parents engaged in work, school, or training activities and covers care in centers, family homes, and Family, Friend, and Neighbor care. The program also supports licensed providers with payments and quality initiatives.
Eligible families earn less than 185% of the Federal Poverty Level with children in licensed care. Parents must participate in work, school, or training activities meeting specific hour requirements. Tribal and TANF families have additional eligibility provisions.
