This fellowship offers an eight-week summer residency at Dumbarton Oaks for scholars in Byzantine and Pre-Columbian Studies beyond their first year of graduate study. Fellows are expected to reside full-time and focus exclusively on their research projects during this period. The fellowship supports advanced study without other major commitments and allows holding other grants only with permission and no conflict.
Eligible applicants are scholars in Byzantine and Pre-Columbian Studies at any level beyond the first year of graduate (post-baccalaureate) study. Fellows must be able to reside full-time at Dumbarton Oaks during the fellowship.
