The SAEMF National Research Scholars Program offers U.S. medical students a 12-month full-time mentored research experience in emergency care at a U.S. institution outside their home school. It provides a $55,000 stipend, up to $10,000 for expenses, and opportunities to attend SAEM Annual Meetings. The program aims to develop future emergency medicine clinician-scientists through structured training and national networking.
Applicants must be U.S. medical students enrolled in accredited schools, recommended by an emergency medicine faculty sponsor, and have completed their second or third year. MSTP students are ineligible. Students without EM departments at their institutions are encouraged to apply.
