The Golden Apple Scholars of Illinois Program provides tuition assistance up to $5,000 annually to academically talented Illinois students enrolled in teacher licensure programs at participating colleges. Scholars commit to teaching full-time for at least five years in Illinois public, private, or parochial schools designated as Schools of Need. Failure to fulfill the teaching commitment converts the award to a repayable loan.
Applicants must be Illinois residents named Golden Apple Scholars, U.S. citizens or eligible noncitizens, enrolled in a participating four-year institution in teacher licensure programs, and meet GPA and program participation requirements.
