The Fulbright Specialist Program funds short-term projects (14-42 days) where U.S. scholars collaborate with Indian higher education institutions to strengthen institutional development and partnerships. Priority areas include AI, business, cybersecurity, STEM, disaster response, energy security, and cultural heritage. Fulbright covers airfare and honorarium; host institutions cover local expenses. Applications are due January 15, 2027, for projects between Sept 2027 and Sept 2028.
Eligible host institutions are Indian universities or higher education institutions recognized by the Indian Ministry of Education and accredited by bodies like UGC or AICTE. They must engage in university-level teaching, training, and international cooperation.
