This fund supports Early Career Researchers in developing new research initiatives through nine-month projects with up to £5,000 funding. It encourages interdisciplinary and collaborative proposals, especially involving partnerships with non-HEI organisations such as charities, industry, and independent researchers. The awards aim to help ECRs build their research portfolio and leverage further funding by supporting activities like workshops, research services, and engagement with external partners.
Open to members of the British Academy Early Career Researcher Network who have attended three events. Applicants must not have received over £11,000 in funding in the last two years and must submit a project report after completion.
