This 36-month cooperative agreement supports state governments to expand and strengthen dementia-specific respite services for unpaid family caregivers through partnerships with Area Agencies on Aging and the National Aging Services Network. Funding covers program implementation, provider training, and independent evaluation to reduce caregiver burden and delay institutionalization of people living with Alzheimer's disease or related dementias.
Eligible applicants are state governments. The program targets State Units on Aging partnering with Area Agencies on Aging and other aging network providers to deliver dementia-specific respite services.
