Supports necessary research instrumentation purchases, upgrades, and replacements by faculty and core facilities. Funding prioritizes equipment that will be leveraged to pursue external funding within one year, improve competitiveness of proposals, or address safety and functionality issues. Requires matching funds and detailed application materials including support letters and price quotes.
Eligible applicants are tenure-line and career-line faculty with at least 0.5 FTE appointments and recognized University of Utah core facilities (core directors only). One application per applicant or core facility per cycle is allowed.
