This funding supports high-quality clinical and translational research with a focus on early phase proof of concept trials, innovative adaptive designs, and biologically rich studies. It prioritizes cancers of unmet need, children's and rare cancers, and trials generating high-quality omics data. The scheme includes three interconnected modules: Clinical Trial, Experimental Medicine, and Sample Collection, encouraging integrated applications. Industry-sponsored trials are not eligible. Funding duration can extend up to 10 years or longer if justified.
Applicants must be based at UK universities, medical schools, hospitals, UKCRC registered clinical trials units, or research institutions.
