The Climate Smart Communities Initiative 2027 funds 16–20 U.S. community-based climate resilience projects prioritizing historically disinvested populations. Grants range from $75,000 to $115,000 for 12-month projects starting July 2027. Applicants must form partnerships including a community-based organization, local/regional government, and a registered adaptation practitioner. The process requires a Letter of Intent by November 20, 2026, followed by an invitation-only full application.
Eligible applicants must be U.S.-based community organizations, local/regional governments, and adaptation practitioners registered by the LOI deadline. Projects must be located in U.S. states or territories and include all three partner types.
