This program supports farmland preservation by paying landowners the difference between fair market and agricultural values in exchange for permanent deed restrictions. It targets productive agricultural landowners facing development pressures, aiming to keep farmland affordable and viable for farming operations. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis and evaluated quarterly.
Eligible applicants are landowners with at least five acres of land that has been actively used for agriculture for the past two years and meets minimum gross sales requirements. The land must have suitable soils and be productive for agriculture.
