The Sepkoski Grants provide small funding opportunities for paleontologists living in specified international regions including former Soviet republics, Eastern Europe, Mongolia, Central and South America, Caribbean islands, Africa, southern Asia, and island nations of the Indian and Pacific Oceans. The program excludes certain countries and territories and aims to support paleontological research in these diverse geographic areas.
