This grant supports programs that help children and youth participate in affordable sport and play by reducing barriers and increasing opportunities for sustained participation. Funding can be used to support program delivery and strengthen initiatives that prioritize fun, social connection, skill development, belonging, and overall well-being. The focus is primarily on children and youth up to age 18, with some flexibility for participants up to age 29 who face barriers to sport and recreation.
Eligible applicants are legally recognized entities in Canada able to receive charitable funding, including registered charities, non-profits, amateur athletic associations, municipalities, Indigenous governments and organizations, and educational institutions aligned with the grant's purpose.
