This grant funds innovative, hypothesis-driven research projects that improve the welfare of nonhuman primates in captive, semi-free ranging, or wild environments. It supports project supplies, research travel, living costs in the field, and field assistants. Pure conservation or basic research is excluded; a welfare focus is required. Applicants must be ASP members with institutional affiliation and ethical approval.
Applicants must be current ASP members affiliated with an institution. Students require a sponsor/mentor. Prior awardees cannot apply the year after receiving funding. Ethical approval is required before funding.
