The NIHR Research Professorships scheme funds outstanding health, public health, and social care researchers in England for five years at professorial level. It supports salary, up to three full-time support posts, research running costs, travel, sabbatical options, and leadership development including access to the NIHR Future Leadership Programme. Awardees are expected to build international collaborations and demonstrate national leadership. Applications require institutional nomination.
Applicants must be health, public health, or social care researchers based in England with an outstanding record and no more than five years at current seniority. Applicants must be nominated by eligible institutions; direct applications are not accepted.
