This grant funds the establishment of Centers of Excellence in the Gulf Coast Region to conduct research and monitoring in coastal sustainability, fisheries and wildlife ecosystems, offshore energy development, sustainable economic growth, and comprehensive Gulf of Mexico observation. Eligible state governments may issue subawards to nongovernmental entities and consortia to advance science and technology in these areas.
Eligible applicants are state governments that can issue subawards to nongovernmental entities and consortia, including institutions of higher education, within the Gulf Coast Region.
