This award funds highly innovative, small-scale exploratory research projects on Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC), with preference for studies on HCC biomarkers. It supports hypothesis-driven proposals with 1-2 aims achievable within one year, enabling investigators to gather preliminary data to compete for longer-term grants. Applicants must be faculty at or below Associate Professor rank, active AASLD members, and affiliated with accredited institutions in the US, Canada, or Mexico.
Applicants must hold a faculty appointment at or below Associate Professor, be AASLD members, devote 20% effort, be sponsored by a US, Canada, or Mexico non-profit institution, and meet project criteria. NIH, FDA, CDC employees are ineligible.
